  Envying the Ants

I wonder
      if ants ever get depressed?
                Are there times
                           when
                    they go through
                                        their day
in a state of mild dissatisfaction
      with their ant hill?

Do
   they
     wake
         up
                          tired
                                      as they
                                              go off
                                                looking
                                                         for
                                                          sugar
                                                                      and bread?

Does the
          collective mind
                   protect them from

the feeling that they should
                             be doing more?

And do they finally
          recognize how silly

all these feelings are
when they have a lovely little world
                                                               to crawl around in?
